In some cases, an increase in the incidence of granular cysts of the gastric mucosa with prolonged use of antisecretory drugs. This phenomenon is regarded as a physiological response to inhibition of production of hydrochloric acid. Cysts are always benign and transient (after completion of treatment disappear).
